Police recover child's special needs stroller, stolen SUV

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana woman is grateful now that police have found her stolen SUV with her 11-year-old son's special needs stroller still inside.

Paige Stewart says police found her stolen GMC Yukon abandoned in Louisville. Her son's $2,500 stroller was still inside. Stewart says both have some damage but they are repairable.

The SUV was stolen last week from the parking lot of the Clarksville Salvation Army where Stewart works on Oct. 4.

Stewart was upset because her son, Christian, has autism and needs the custom-designed stroller to get around.

Christian can walk, but often uses the stroller. "Those are like his legs when he's out in the public," Stewart said. "It's kind of like his comfort spot because he has trouble with social interaction and with people because of the autism."

Police are still looking for the person who stole the SUV.
