Louisville NAACP branch holds drive-in voter registration event

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There is no more time for Kentuckians to register to vote now, but people were still out in full force earlier on Tuesday, hoping to get as many last-minute voters as possible.

The Louisville Branch NAACP held a drive-in voter registration event in front of the Urban League building on West Broadway. People filled out the registration cards while sitting in their cars.

The group says it's important to vote because it determines the direction the nation will go in.

"We need people to vote," said Raoul Cunningham, spokesman for the NAACP. "And we want everyone to vote. Whether you agree with the positions that we took or not, we want everyone to exercise their right to to vote."

People in Indiana have until midnight to register to vote for next month's election.
