LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he attacked an employee at a hospital psychiatric ward.

According to an arrest warrant, it happened on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Norton Hospital Downtown, on E. Chestnut Street, near S. Floyd Street.

Police say 38-year-old Glenn Ray Todd was a patient at the hospital, when the victim, a mental health associate at the hospital, arrived to do her rounds.

According to the warrant, Todd attacked her, throwing her to the floor. He then allegedly began punching her in the face, head and body, while kicking her in the side and back.

The victim yelled for help, according to the warrant.

Police say Todd then picked her up and threw her down the hallway, "about four doors down." He then continued to punch her, according to the warrant.

Eventually, help arrived and Todd was restrained.

Police say the victim was beaten so badly she urinated on herself. She was taken to the hospital's emergency room. According to the arrest warrant, she suffered a lower back injury, an injury to her lower right leg and foot, as well as bruises and soreness all over, including pain to the side of her head and a scratch to her face.

Police say she remains in "extreme pain."

Todd was discharged from the hospital that night, and a police report was filed. Police say the entire incident was captured on surveillance video.

A warrant was issued for Todd's arrest on Saturday, Oct. 8, and he was taken into custody on Tuesday, Oct. 11. He is charged with second degree assault.

Todd is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
