Trinity, Male and St. X hold the top three spots in the WDRB High School Football Top 10. Trinity, Male and St. X hold the top three spots in the WDRB High School Football Top 10.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The list of unbeaten teams in the WDRB High School Football Top 10 has been reduced to three — Trinity, South Oldham and Bardstown.

Each competes at a different level — Trinity at 6A, South Oldham 5A and Bardstown 3A.

The powerful Rocks continue to earn the most national publicity. Coach Bob Beatty’s team is ranked 21st in MaxPreps.com’s Xcellent 25; 21st by Prep Nation; 17th by USA Today and 18th by High School Football America.

The WDRB High School Game of the Week features St. Xavier’s trip to Male. Both programs have lost to Trinity. The Shamrocks beat the Tigers by 22 and the Bulldogs by 3.

Here is this week’s poll.

1. Trinity (8-0, seven first-place votes, 70 points) — The Shamrocks beat Eastern 56-0 last week — and figure to win just as comfortably against Seneca Friday.

2. Male (6-1), 63 points) — The Bulldogs have their chance to separate themselves from the pack with home games against St. Xavier and Manual the next two weekends.

3. St. Xavier (5-2, 53 points) — The Tigers won a Show Me game against Manual last week — and face another at Male Friday.

4. Manual (6-1, 47 points) — Two strange things happened to the Crimson last weekend — they lost (to St. X) and they allowed a season-high 28 points.

5. Christian Academy (6-1, 45 points) — Make it six in a row for coach Stefan Lefors’ team which gets winless Shawnee this weekend.

6. Ballard (5-2, 26 points) — The Bruins figure to stretch their winning streak to three against Jeffersontown before getting their shot against Trinity next week.

7. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-3, 16 points) — The Panthers stopped their three-game slide by beating Butler but will be tested by Manual.

8. South Oldham (7-0, 15 points) — The Dragons have quietly built a solid, unbeaten season, but will be tested by formidable (5-2) Bullitt Central.

9. Bardstown (7-0, 14 points) — The Tigers will have to play better against Central than they did in their seven-point victory over Moore.

10. DeSales (5-2), 13 points) — After losing to Christian Academy, the Colts should get well against Washington County, which lost its first five games.

Also receiving votes (in order): North Hardin, Brownstown (Ind.) Central, North Bullitt, Fern Creek, John Hardin.
