UPDATE | U.S. Marshals arrest fugitive barricaded in Bullitt County mobile home

Posted: Updated:

BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. (WDRB) -- An hours-long standoff in Bullitt County ended with a wanted man from Texas in custody.

U.S. Marshals had been searching for 31-year-old Daniel Abney for about a month and a half on charges of burglary and theft of firearms.

The Marshals say Abney barricaded himself inside a mobile home Wednesday in Preston Village Mobile Home Park along Wilma Avenue, near the Jefferson County line.

Marshals used tear gas to force him out of the home.

Shortly after his arrest Wednesday night, Abney was hosed off to remove the tear gas stench.

Abney is being held in the Bullitt County Jail.

It's unclear when or if he'll be extradited to Texas.
