LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for shooting a man several times on Russett Boulevard.

It happened on Sunday, Oct. 2, in the 5300 block of Russett Boulevard, near Fern Valley Road, around 6 p.m.

LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said upon arrival, officers found a victim in his late teens or early twenties in a ditch line with several gunshot wounds. That victim turned out to be Andre Banks, the teen who pleaded guilty to shooting another student at Fern Creek High School in Sept. 2014.

Banks was critically wounded, according to police.

On Wednesday morning, police arrested 21-year-old Terrence Wells for the crime. Police say Wells shot Banks, then ran away, discarding his clothing in an attempt to avoid prosecution.

Wells is charged with attempted murder, first degree assault and tampering with physical evidence. He is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
