Board of Trustees meeting reveals $60 million rift between U of L and KentuckyOne Health

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There are growing signs of an unhealthy relationship between the University of Louisville and its hospital partner, KentuckyOne Health.

A $60 million controversy erupted during Thursday's U of L Board of Trustees meeting. U of L claims KentuckyOne Health is more than $60 million behind in payments to the university.

The university also blames KentuckyOne Health for nursing shortages at the hospital that have caused what it calls "serious reputational harm to U of L."

But KentuckyOne Health is pointing the finger at U of L -- and specifically the U of L Foundation. The health care giant says it has questions about how funds are being invested and spent, as well as concerns about the leadership at the U of L Medical School.

KentuckyOne Health does say it remains committed to the partnership.
