Police chase ends with gunfire near Iroquois Park
The reason police fired at the suspect on New Cut Road.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A chase involving LMPD officers and Bullitt County Sheriff's deputies ends in gunfire.
The chase ended about 1 a.m. Friday near Iroquois Park at the intersection of Inverness Avenue and New Cut Road.
LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says officers were helping the Bullitt County Task Force, when the chase ended. They cornered the suspect in his car, but he reportedly rammed several police cruisers. That's when an officer fired at the suspect's vehicle. He wasn't hit, but he was taken into custody.
Police have yet to release the suspect's name or the charges he could be facing.
No officers were injured. The Bullitt County Task Force is investigating the suspect.
