LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Unity can help end gun violence.

That was the message of Saturday's first-ever Fall Fun Festival.

Family First and Feed the City partnered for the event, which featured a cookout along 26th and Grand Avenue.

Pastor Larry Coleman with City Church says coming together as a community, and as a family is the key to keeping everyone safe.

"We hear everything that goes on in our community in the inner city in the west end and so our commission and our motive today is to say that families can come together and we can change our community within," Coleman said.

Coleman says events like this one will be held every month.
