LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Superheros, supervillains and men in dresses all battled for cash on the court Saturday.

More than a dozen co-ed teams of four competed in the Volleypalooza Costume Tournament at Baxter Jacks.

"It's fun, it's an escape, really. You just have fun, put on the costumes, and just goof off. That's what it's all about down here, anyway," Bobby Elliott said.

The teams were competing for a $100 prize.

But the most fun was apparently deciding who, or what, to be.

"We were talking about going and picking out costumes and we were texting back and forth like we were 12 years old again," Chad Kiser said. ""The challenge is trying to play volleyball in a mask because I can't see from here down so I have no idea where I'm at, what I'm doing."

This was the 9th year for the event.
