Former Penn State football coach takes school to trial for wrongful termination

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The actions of a former Penn State football coach who turned out to be a serial child molester may cost the school more money.

Former assistant coach Mike McQueary's wrongful termination lawsuit against the school is going to trial.

McQueary testified that he saw Jerry Sandusky abuse a boy in a team shower in 2001.Sandusky was eventually found guilty of sexually abusing dozens of boys over a 15-year period and is serving what amounts to a life sentence.

McQueary's lawsuit claims retaliation.

The university suspended him and did not renew his contract after he testified.
