Louisville woman reportedly hits step-father with broom handle in argument over Donald Trump

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --  A woman went before a Louisville judge, accused of hitting her step father with a broom handle.

It's what the suspect told a judge they were fighting about, though, that caught everyone's attention. Juliette Lilly, 51, explained why she and her step-father, 77-year-old Charles Lilly, got into an argument.

Suspect: "He got mad because I said I was gonna vote for Donald Trump, and he got mad."

Judge: "Is that right?"

Suspect: "The house is mine, and he got mad."

Judge: "And you're voting for Donald Trump?"

Suspect: "I'm voting for Donald Trump, and I encourage everyone to vote for Donald Trump."

The argument ultimately got physical when she hit him with a broom handle, cutting his cheek.

Juliette Lilly was talking about her home because she was ordered not to have contact with her step-father, even though they live in the same house.

She was allowed to leave the jail on the promise she'd stay somewhere else until she can evict her family member.
