World's largest vampire stake unveiled at Slugger Museum

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Vampires won't be the kind of bats hanging around Slugger Museum this Halloween.

That's because of the world's largest vampire stake. It was unveiled Wednesday morning at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory.

The stake is more than eight feet tall, and is made of the same materials used in the famous Louisville Slugger Bats.

But crews couldn't turn it like a bat. They used a chain saw, an electric hand planer and a blow torch to make it.

"It's clever, it's innovative, and the fact that they were able to make it out of ash, so it has the tie in with the baseball bat, it's great, I love it," said museum visitor Art Hoffman.

The stake is part of the first ever Home Run Halloween Celebration that runs through the weekend.

The vampire stake will be on display through the end of the month.
