LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Nelson County Sheriff's deputy is facing an assault charge.

Brandon Bryan, a K-9 officer, was arrested Sunday night and charged with fourth degree assault. He spent about four hours in jail before being released on a $5,000 bond.

Officers responded to a home in Bardstown on Sunday, where they say Bryan grabbed a woman by her shoulders and held her neck.

Court documents indicate he is not allowed to carry any weapons or have contact with the woman. The Nelson County Sheriff's Department has not commented yet.
