I said back in the spring that we are probably going to elect one of the worst, if not the worst, presidents in our history. It looks like we're still on track. We have two impolite, classless candidates, both with an abundance of flaws.
I can't tell you how many conversations I've had with people of both parties who are just disgusted with their party's nominee. They always ask, "In a country of 300 million people, how could we do no better than these two?" I can tell you with absolute certainty, I have no idea. I do know that a very, very tiny percentage of registered voters nominated these two. That's because the vast majority in the middle stood silently on the sidelines and just watched. They didn't participate by voting.
Just because this has gotten out of hand and you may see no good choice, doesn't mean you can throw your hands up again and not vote. That should not be an option. We must vote. There are many other decent candidates on the ballot who need you.
I feel confident that our next president will be a one-termer, out in four years, but we must stay vigilant. We must watch. We must be involved. And most importantly, we must vote on November 8.
Feel free to call and tell me where I'm wrong. Or right. I welcome your thoughts.
I'm Bill Lamb, and that's my Point of View.
