LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) — The final week of the high school football regular season has arrived — and consensus has also arrived in the WDRB High School Football Top 10.

For the first time this season, the top three teams are the same on all seven ballots — Trinity first, St. Xavier second and Male third.

Not surprising, even if it has taken 10 weeks to get to that point. All three programs are driven to contend at the highest level in pursuit of championships.

But one other team deserves love — the South Oldham Dragons, who are one win from completing a perfect regular season.

The Dragons escaped North Bullitt, 35-34, last weekend, just their second victory by less than 10 points. South Oldham will close with a trip to Shelby County. The Rockets have won eight straight after opening with a loss to Garrard County (although the streak included a forfeited 56-31 win by Bullitt East).

On to the top 10.

1. Trinity (10-0, 70 points) — The Shamrocks have the week to prepare for their opening playoff game with 2-7 Ohio County.

2. St. Xavier (7-2, 63 points) — The Tigers travel to Cincinnati St. Xavier, a team that has lost its last three games but is usually dangerous.

3. Male (7-2, 56 points) — The Bulldogs bounced back from their loss to St. X with a 13-point victory over Manual.

4. Manual (7-2, 45 points) — The Crimson have lost two of their last three, but to St. X and Male.

5. Christian Academy (8-1, 44 points) — Only Franklin County sits between the Centurions and a nine-game winning streak.

6. South Oldham (9-0 30 points) — If the Dragons expect to finish a perfect regular season they’ll have to earn it against one-loss Shelby County.

7. DeSales (7-2, 23 points) — The Colts should cruise to their eighth win against visiting Southern.

8. Pleasure Ridge Park (5-4, 18 points) — After an off week, the Panthers host improving Central, which has won five straight.

9. Brownstown (Ind.) Central (9-1, 17 points) — The Braves play their second sectional game at Salem, a team they beat 49-12 in September.

10. Ballard (6-3, 6 points) — The Bruins have beaten the teams they were supposed to beat — and Doss should be another Friday.
