City looking for tree for 'Light Up Louisville'

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city is looking for a tree for this year's "Light Up Louisville" event.

The large Christmas tree will stand in Jefferson Square Park through the holidays.

Mayor Greg Fischer says he hopes someone will come forward with a donation.

The tree should be a spruce or fir, about 40 feet tall and well-shaped.

The city will cut and transport the tree to the plaza at 4th and Jefferson Streets.

Anyone interested in donating a tree should call 311.
