LEWIS | UK and U of L women open season in Top 25

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The University of Louisville and University of Kentucky womens basketball teams will open the season in the USA Today/Coaches’ poll Top 25.

U of L is ranked 8th in the poll that was released Thursday. The Cardinals finished last season at number 8 in the AP Top 25. Head coach Jeff Walz’s team is one of five ACC teams in the new poll.

For a seventh straight year, UK will start the season in the Top 25. Coach Matthew Mitchell’s team is tabbed 19th.
