LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Halloween may not be until Monday, but we're already looking ahead to the holiday season.

Light up Louisville will return on Nov. 25 to kick off a month-long celebration of Louisville's "Holiday in the City."

Light Up Louisville will start at 4 p.m. with the annual Run, Run Rudolph 5K Run/Walk. Participants are encouraged to dress in their most festive holiday attire, and reindeer antlers and ugly Christmas sweaters are highly recommended.

The main stage on Jefferson Street will feature live entertainment until the start of the Lots of Lights Parade at 7 p.m. The parade will start at the corner of S. 5th Street and W. Jefferson Street and proceed east on W. Jefferson Street.

At Holiday Square, at the corner of S. 4th Street and W. Jefferson Street, there will be a full-sized ice skating rink, which is set to open Nov. 26 until Jan. 15.

New this year, every week from Thursday until Sunday, visitors can see the new Gum Drop Trail to the Holiday Market at 4th Street Live.

Each week of Holiday in the City will feature a different cultural theme.

"We've been working hard to create an unforgettable experience for people who come to spend some of the holiday season with us here in downtown Louisville," said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.
