LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say two people were transported to University Hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car at Zorn Avenue and River Road. The crash happened Saturday around 10 p.m.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says the motorcycle was traveling east on River Road.

Officials say a vehicle heading west on River Road made a left turn when entering the intersection of Zorn Avenue and River Road, and collided with the motorcycle.

Mitchell says the person operating the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, who died Sunday morning at University Hospital as a result of their injuries.

A passenger on the motorcycle was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to officials.

Authorities say no one inside the vehicle was hurt. Identities have not yet been released.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the accident.
