LANE | Three Locals in First AP Hoop Top 25

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Old friends Duke and Kentucky sit atop the first Associated Press Men's College Basketball Top 25 poll for the 2016-2017 season, released Monday.  Indiana is 11th, Louisville 13th in the initial poll.

Duke starts the year number one for the eighth time and they lead a group of five teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference.  The Blue Devils received 58 of the 65 first-place votes.  UK got two first-place votes.  The Wildcats opened exhibition play with a 108-51 victory over Clarion Sunday at Rupp Arena.

IU and U of L each play exhibition games this week.  The Hoosiers meet Hope College Tuesday at the Assembly Hall.  The Cardinals take on Kentucky Wesleyan Thursday at the KFC Yum! Center.
