Louisville man accused of trying to kill his own brother

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a man who tried to kill his own brother.

According to an arrest report, the incident took place in the 4300 block of Wilmoth Avenue, near Camp Ground Road and Lees Lane, just after 4 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say 20-year-old Samuel C. Vaught shot his brother, "with the intent to cause his death." His brother's injuries were serious, according to the arrest report.

Police say Vaught admitted to the shooting, and he was arrested just before 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

He's currently in Louisville Metro Corrections, charged with attempted murder.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
