LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former Cincinnati police officer is on trial for murder.

On Tuesday, the jury visited the place where he shot and killed a man after a traffic stop.

Ray Tensing, 26, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter in the death of Sam DuBose last year near the University of Cincinnati campus.

The judge told jurors that the purpose of going to the shooting scene was to help them understand the evidence as it is presented in the courtroom.

During opening statements, Tensing's attorney told jurors DuBose was using his car as a weapon that threatened the officer's life.

Prosecutors say the shooting went against against police training and was murder.
