LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A non-profit organization has graded Louisville-area hospitals on patient safety -- and some hospitals performed better than others.

The grades were issued by The Leapfrog Group, "a nonprofit organization committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system" based in Washington D.C.

According to its Web site, the group, "scores hospitals on their overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. The grades are derived from expert analysis of publicly available data using 30 evidence-based, national measures of hospital safety."
