Louisville Slugger Chicago Cubs World Series bats start rolling off the line

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Chicago Cubs World Series Championship bats are already rolling off the production line at Louisville Slugger.

Spokesman Rick Redman debuted one of the first three bats made early Thursday morning on WDRB. He says art and graphics were ready for either team to win, so bats started being produced at 6 a.m.

There are dozens of models available on the Louisville Slugger website. He says there are a wide range of options in every price range.

"When these things happen, you want to be able to offer something for everyone," Redman said.

Redman says there are a dozen or more different options for Cubs fans ranging from $12 to up to about $100.

Just like this year, Louisville Slugger was part of the last Cubs’ championship in 1908. The historic brand has been part of every World Series played since the very first one in 1903.
The bats are available online and will be available at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory gift shop. And they are making a lot of them, according to Redman.

"When the White Sox won, our sales shattered records," Redman said. "We had 20,000 sold."

Full-size, sequentially numbered bats will sell for $139.99. Full-size, one-color championship bats will be available for $99, and mini bats will cost $12.99.

Redman says the company sales projection for full-size souvenir bats is around 50,000.
