LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- WDRB's own Gilbert Corsey emceed a fundraiser Friday to benefit The de Paul School.

School leaders say the school teaches students with learning differences how to learn and how to be independent and successful.

"The de Paul School means a lot to me," said Adam Thomas, a student at the school. "I came from a school that was really strict and wanted things done correctly, and de Paul really put things in perspective, helping me get ready for high school."

The group raised nearly $40,000 Friday. It's the 14th year The de Paul School has hosted the event.
