'Flags4Vets' decorates Cave Hill Cemetery graves with American flags for Veterans' Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- In honor of the upcoming Veterans' Day holiday, gravestones at one of Kentucky's most historic cemeteries were decorated with thousands of American flags.

As part of Flags4Vets, volunteers put flags on an estimated 7,000 veterans' graves at Cave Hill Cemetery Saturday.

600 of the graves are unknown soldiers.

"You're their family because they couldn't possibly find the grave of their loved one here. So today 600 flags, that's you representing families that have the kind of grief that we could only imagine," Fred Moore said.

This was the tenth year for the event.
