LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – Even though it’s important to consider the quality of the opponent, the final score is still a real eye popper.
On Sunday night, the Kentucky Wildcats beat the Asbury Eagles 156-63 in exhibition play at Rupp Arena. The 156 points represent the largest scoring output for Kentucky in program history.
Freshman De’Aaron Fox lead the way with 25 points. He was one of eight players to finish the game in double figures for the Cats, who led by as many as 102 points before pulling back down the stretch.
Asbury, a division II NAIA school was paid $20,000 for playing. The school apparently will use the money for a new scoreboard.
UK, playing in its last exhibition game, opens up the season Friday vs. Stephen F. Austin.
