'Solve these murders' yard signs in Bardstown stand out in political season
The signs positioned near businesses downtown and in neighborhood yards reference three big crimes that almost seem to have gone cold.
BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- We're at that point in the fall where it seems there are about as many signs in yards as leaves on the ground in Bardstown.
"Almost on every corner or every block, there's going to be one." said life-long Bardstown resident Imogene Morrow.
The signs are not red or blue, and they don't stand for a Democrat or a Republican.
"Even though it's election time, we haven't forgotten," Morrow said.
They're black with white lettering and have a message that's clear: "Solve these murders."
Rogers' family is behind the signs.
"I'd say some hope is fading, you know?" said Bardstown auto worker Bobby Bowling.
He wants to make sure that doesn't happen, so he has a sign outside his workplace near a well-traveled intersection.
"Hopefully they'll keep looking and come up with something, you know?" he said.
Morrow also hopes it helps to battle a stigma that has taken over the small central Kentucky town.
"You want to commit murder, come to Bardstown," she said. "I don't like it, but that's a saying now."
The signs show no matter how much time passes, this community has not stop hurting and still waits as eagerly every day for real answers.
