LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville high school is receiving recognition in the nation's capital.

On Tuesday, St. Xavier's principal, Francisco Espinosa, Jr., and president/alum, Dr. Perry Sangalli, will receive a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School Award in Washington D.C.

The award will be presented by the U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr.

St. Xavier is one of 50 private schools receiving the honor. This is the fourth time St. Xavier has received the award. The school was previously recognized in 1984, 1989 and 1993.

St. Xavier is the only school in Kentucky to be recognized four times as an "Exemplary High Performing School."
