INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WDRB) -- Republican Todd Young has won the U.S. Senate seat in Indiana, according to Fox News.

With 72 percent of precincts reporting, Young has 52 percent of the vote.

Democrat Evan Bayh was hoping to reclaim the seat he left six years ago. The campaign with Young was a heated one with plenty of attack ads on both sides.

The race was considered to be a toss-up.

Bayh had never lost an election dating back to 1986.
