LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville radio station is already playing non-stop Christmas and holiday-themed music.
SummitMedia Louisville adult contemporary station 106.9 Play (WVEZ) rested its normal format Wednesday at 9 a.m., and with a formal announcement from morning show hosts Jesse and MJ (and Santa Claus), made its annual transformation into "Louisville’s Original Christmas Music Station."
The station promises to play only modern and classic Christmas and holiday-themed songs from now through Christmas night.
"With the election coming to a close, we thought it was the perfect time to spread some cheer and bring the Louisville community together," Operations Manager Shane Collins explains. "We just couldn't wait to continue our 17-year tradition of being Louisville's Christmastime authority."
Collins says the station plans to not only offer a festive soundtrack, but will be aligned with many of the area's biggest holiday events, including Light Up Louisville/Holiday in the City, an upcoming Christmas concert featuring Jim Brickman, and the Moscow Ballet.
