LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man authorities say fired shots at a victim in front of a daycare center.

Jeffrey Wilhelm Jr., 20, was arrested Tuesday in the 400 block of South 6th Street, near West Liberty Street, according to an official police report.

Police say Wilhelm and the victim had an argument about a stolen bicycle. According to police, as Wilhelm was leaving the scene, "he turned and fired two shots at the victim."

Investigators say it happened in front of Smiling Faces Daycare. According to police, an employee of the daycare center was outside at the time, along with about six children.

Wilhelm is charged with eight counts of wanton endangerment.

According to the Metro Corrections website, Wilhelm is also charged with first-degree robbery and complicity to commit robbery.

He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
