LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police responded to Fairdale High School after a report of a student with a gun on a school bus early Thursday.

JCPS spokeswoman Jennifer Brislin confirms the school was on lockdown and heightened security for a short time after receiving the report around 7 a.m. The student was on a school bus and not inside the school when the report was received. The school was locked down because the bus compound is nearby.

The school resumed normal operations after finding the student, but no gun.
