LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A military family got a Veterans Day surprise, designed to give them a lift that makes life easier with their disabled son.

The Parr family of Louisville is one of 100 military families across the country who got the keys to a newly-refurbished vehicle.

Progressive Insurance donated this van, and workers at Oxmoor Collision Center spent hours restoring it.

The Parr's son has cerebral palsy, and he relies on a wheelchair most of the time. The family says this is a big upgrade from their 23-year-old car.

"I don't even know how to explain it. We're overwhelmed," Vanessa Parr said. "It's a blessing."

Progressive donates cars that have been involved or recovered through a claim. It's the first year a Kentucky family has received a car through the program.
