15-year-old boy shot and killed in Southside neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD is responding to a fatal shooting in the Southside neighborhood.

MetroSafe says a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed around 6:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of South First Street near Tenny Avenue.

The teenager was rushed to University Hospital, but he died shortly thereafter.

One man who lives in the area didn't want us to use his name, but touched on the tragedy of another life gunned down way too soon. 

"It's bad because I might possibly know the person," he said. "Every day we keep turning the news on and seeing this crazy stuff going on but, we not stopping it, just keep on going."

The boy's body was found near the Americana Community Center.
