LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD is investigating after a deadly shooting in the 700 block of Camp Street.

The shooting happened around 12:15 p.m. Saturday near Shelby Park.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Jo-Ann Farmer has identified the victim as 32-year-old Christopher Jearell Goldsmith.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says Goldsmith was shot multiple times outside of a home. Officials say he was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:51 p.m.

Mitchell says there are no suspects in the murder.

This is the 100th homicide of the year in Louisville. “The first one was tragic and obviously the 100th is, and obviously this is the mark that we’ve hit. However, we’re continuing to work diligently in the community and as I’ve said many times we cannot legislate morality,” said Mitchell.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Louisville Metro Police tip line at 502-574-LMPD.
