LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Getting tattoos to help fight cancer.

"I think it's wonderful. I think everybody needs to come support Megan's Mountains. Her family I'm sure misses her just like we all miss our family members," said Jeri Maas, who got tattooed at Sunday's event.

Megan's Mountains is a foundation that helps cancer patients.

It was started by a local woman who lost her battle with Leukemia in 2015.

Wanting to do something to help, Tattoo Charlie's started Tattoos Against Cancer.

All the money raised goes to Megan's Mountains.

"My artists here today are all donating their time. I'm donating all the supplies, all the business expenses, credit card fees, all of that and 100 percent of the donations go to charity, which just again makes me feel wonderful," Buddy Wheeler, owner of Tattoo Charlie's, said.

In the last five years the tattoo shop has raised nearly $40,000.

The doors opened at 9 a.m. Sunday and closed at 1 a.m.
