Peace walk takes place in Old Louisville Tuesday afternoon

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bringing LMPD officers and neighbors together in an effort to get rid of violence.

At lunch-time peace walk on Tuesday, officers walked the streets of Old Louisville to hear questions and concerns from neighbors.

This comes as the city had its 100th homicide this past weekend.

"But I think one of the biggest things we need to do is what we're doing right now. Our peace walk--coming together with the community and working hand in hand, because we can't put officers on every street. But with the community coming together, we can solve a lot of issues," said Assistant LMPD Chief Kim Kraeszig.

Police say they pushed the time of the walk back to noon, because it's getting dark outside earlier.
