LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sixth-ranked Indiana followed up its big season-opening victory over Kansas in Hawaii with a first home win, taking care of UMass-Lowell 100-78 Wednesday night in Bloomington. James Blackmon, Jr. hit 8-of-12 from the field including 5-of-9 three-pointers to lead the offense with 23 points, 20 coming in the first half.
Robert Johnson and OG Anunoby each hit 7-of-11 field goal attempts as the Hoosiers hit 56% on the night. Johnson scored 16, Anunoby a career-best 15.
IU (2-0) dominated the boards with a 46-24 rebounding edge. 19 offensive rebounds led to 15 second-chance points. They used separate runs of 22-6 in the first half and 15-0 in the second half to put away the visitors.
Jahad Thomas led the River Hawks (1-2) with 16 points.
Indiana hosts Liberty Saturday at 7:00 pm before travelling to Fort Wayne the following Tuesday.
