LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Knives, pepper spray, even brass knuckles are among the many items confiscated by TSA officials at airports across the country.

On Thursday TSA officials showed travelers the confiscated items at Louisville's International Airport. It's all part of a push to remind people what they shouldn't bring with them to the airport.

TSA regional spokesman Mark Howell says some people just don't know that certain items are prohibited.

"We've seen some really strange stuff come through the checkpoint we've had chainsaws come through the checkpoint before -- weed whackers, gas cans full of gasoline, animal parts -- so there's a lot of different things that people bring that they may not know if they're allowed or not," Howell said.

Howell says the TSA expects more than 100 million passengers to pass through checkpoints across the country between now and January 7th.
