Director of National Intelligence stepping down

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Director of National Intelligence is calling it quits. 

James Clapper submitted his letter of resignation last night to the House Intelligence Committee. He said in the past, he planned to retire at the end of the Obama administration. 

Clapper was appointed the position in August 2010. He has also served as a lieutenant general in the Air Force and director of the Defense Intelligence Agency

Clapper isn't leaving right away -- he has 64 days left before his resignation takes effect.
