Police investigating after 2 teenagers shot in Hallmark neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are looking for suspects after two people were shot Thursday night in the Hallmark neighborhood.

It happened just before 9 p.m. outside a home in 2300 block of Ratcliffe Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene to find two black males in their late teens suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both men were transported to University Hospital. One appears to have non-life-threatening injuries, and the other was in critical condition.

Police say this isn't the first time they've been called to that neighborhood. So far, police don't have any suspects, and they're asking for witnesses to come forward as they continue to collect evidence.

It's still early into the investigation, but here's what detectives say they think happened.

"Right now it looks like there was a group of people on the porch and that's where the victims were, on the porch, so it appears that the victims did know each other," said Lt. Emily McKinley. "As far as if it was a drive by, or you know, people coming up, we're still looking into everything and exploring all of our options."

Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 574-LMPD. All calls are anonymous.
