LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Kentuckians hoping for a tax refund will have to wait a little longer for their check.

It all depends on the deductions you take.

A recent change affects those claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit in Kentucky. The law makes it easier for the IRS to detect and prevent fraud.

But refunds for those taxpayers who take the deductions will not be sent out until Feb. 15.

The delays affect about 800,000 Kentuckians.
