LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A crossover crash killed one person and injured two others on I-64, west of Corydon, Indiana.

It happened about 10:49 a.m. Friday near the 101 mile marker.

A car in the eastbound lanes sideswiped a semi truck, crossed the median and hit a pickup truck head-on in the westbound lanes, said Brad Shepherd, of the sheriff's department.

The driver of the car died at the scene. Two people in the pickup were injured and taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

It was not clear why the driver hit the truck and crossed the median, Shepherd said. Toxicology tests are pending.

The coroner's office has not yet released the name of the person who died. Shepherd said all who were involved were from "out of state."

The sheriff’s department and Indiana State Police are investigating the crash.

I-64 westbound lanes were closed for about two hours Friday afternoon. Police diverted traffic at the Corydon exit.
