GOOD SAMARITAN: Actor Jon Voight unexpectedly pays for Home of the Innocents turkeys
An employee of the Home of the Innocents ran into a famous actor -- then got an additional surprise -- Friday morning.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An employee of the Home of the Innocents ran into a famous actor -- then got an additional surprise -- Friday morning.
According to a post from the Home of the Innocents Facebook page, the employee was buying turkeys for the children at the center, when she ran into actor Jon Voight.
Voight was in Louisville for a movie shoot.
The Facebook post explains what happened next:
"Our employee Sydney Gholston went to purchase Thanksgiving turkeys for our kids today," the post stated. "What a treat when she ran into Jon Voight who is in town filming a movie and he asked what the turkeys were for."
After learning that the turkeys were for the children at the center, Voight reportedly showed his generous side:
"Jon generously paid for the turkeys to feed our kids next week!" the Facebook post announced. "We are so thankful for his generosity!"
The Home of the Innocents also posted a picture on Facebook, which can be viewed with this story.
