LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person who survived a shooting that happened in the Park Hill neighborhood is facing a murder charge, according to Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Alicia Smiley.

LMPD is investigating after one person was fatally shot on Friday afternoon. MetroSafe dispatchers confirm it happened just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Dixie Highway and Wilson Avenue.

That person has been identified as 37-year-old Leroy Williams.

The second victim is expected to survive after he transported himself to University Hospital.

That person is facing a murder charge, according to Smiley. Authorities say the suspect's name will be released when the person is taken to Metro Corrections.

Neighbors at the scene say the man that died was at a store on Dixie Highway trying to cash two winning lottery tickets when he was shot.

A woman who knew the victim says he was a great guy.

"He minds his own business," she said. "You never see him argue with anybody. You never see him rowdy with anybody. I know he was going through some tough times here the last couple of months. If he did hit a little money, that was a blessing for him."

Police said Saturday on social media that there are no outstanding suspects in connection with the homicide.
