LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A sewage spill in Bullitt County has spewed waste water into a public creek right behind the mayor's home.

Hunters Hollow Mayor Linda Parker snapped photos of the aftermath on Thursday. Black sludge is visible, flowing behind her home. The community has been struggling with old and failing sewage treatment plants for more than two years.

The Bullitt County Sanitation District blamed a blocked line for the latest leak, but says it's considered a minor spill.

County crews worked all day Friday on the cleanup.
