Hwy. 62 closed near 2 Hardin County schools, detours necessary

CECILIA, Ky. (WDRB) -- Parents who plan to drop children off at two Hardin County schools will have to use an alternate route this morning.

According to a post on the Hardin County Schools Facebook page, the highway is closed adjacent to Lakewood Elementary and West Hardin Middle School because of a house fire.

According to the post, parents "can still get to the school using the alternate route below (Highway 1375). Buses are running their routes and know to take alternate route.

"If coming to Lakewood from Etown, turn right on 1375. Then when you come to stop sign, turn left. You will be on Franklin Crossroads which comes out across from our school driveway. It is a curvy road and you will cross railroad tracks."

There's no word yet on when the highway will reopen.
