34th Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run happening on Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thousands of bikers are getting ready to take to the streets to make sure needy children receive gifts this Christmas.

The 34th Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run happens on Sunday.

Bikers will roar through the streets of Louisville, and each one donates a new toy for a child in the Louisville area.

The St. Matthews Police Department joins several other local police and fire departments to keep the route safe.

The officers say it's an annual tradition they enjoy. "We certainly want to see smiling kids around their trees on Christmas morning, and I think that's what attracts all the officers to be here and support this event," said St. Matthews Police Officer Tony Cobaugh.

The motorcycle run starts at noon on Sunday on Logistics Drive in the PRP area, and ends at 2 p.m. at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium.
